Joanne Glasscock-  The centaur   On that hill a centaur stands half stallion,  half man   and his hoofs are the hoofs of a stallion and his strength, it's the strength of a stallion and his pride, the pride of a stallion But his tears are the tears of a man   Over the hill the centaur goes round the mountain and back again a little too far from the world of dreams and just beyond the world of a man   Once the centaur loved a mare who rode beside him everywhere They were racing, chasing cross the fields the centaur and the wild mare   But with the racing and chasing done they stood silent and silent there But the centaur, he had words to say But the mare had only the soul of a mare   Over the hill he rode on round the mountain and back again a little too far from the world of dreams and just beyond the world of a man   Once the centaur loved a girl who saw his golden aspiration They were walking, whispering through the woods the centaur and the lovely girl   But with the walking and whispering done they stood silent, and then they cried For the centaur felt the stirring breeze He needed someone who could ride by his side   Over the hill climbing the mountain and back again not a quite reaching his world of dreams and still beyond the world of a man   On that hill a centaur stands 저 언덕위에 한 마리 쎈토가 서 있네. 반은 종마 반은 사람.   종마의 발굽에 종마의 힘에 종마의 자부심을 가졌지만 눈물만은 사람의 것이라네.   저 언덕위에 한 마리 쎈토가 가고 있네. 산을 돌아 다시 제 자리로. 꿈의 세상으로부터 조금 멀리 떨어진 곳, 사람들이 사는 세상 바로 건너 저편이라네.   한 때 쎈토는 암말을 사랑했다네. 날마다 그녀 곁에서 달리곤 했지. 종마와 암말은 들판을 가로질러 경주하고 따라잡고 그랬다네.   하지만, 경주와 따라잡기가 끝나고 나면 그들은 조용히 서 있었지. 쎈토는 하고 싶은 말이 많았지만, 암말은 단지 암말의 영혼만을 가지고 있었기에.   언덕 위로 그는 달리네. 산을 돌아 다시 제 자리로. 꿈의 세상으로부터 조금 멀리 떨어진 곳, 사람들이 사는 세상 바로 건너 저편이라네.   한 때 쎈토는 그의 황금빛 포부를 알아주는 한 소녀를 사랑했다네. 쎈토와 그 사랑스런 소녀는 숲속을 걸으며 속삭였지.   하지만 산책과 속삭임을 다 했을 때, 그들은 조용히 서서 울었다네. 왜냐하면 쎈토는 산들바람을 느끼자 곁에 함께 달릴 누군가를 필요로 했기 때문이지.   언덕 너머로, 산 위로 다시 제자리로 달리고 있네. 꿈의 세상으로부터 조금 멀리 떨어진 곳, 사람들이 사는 세상 바로 건너 저편이라네.   그 언덕에 한 마리 쎈토가 서 있다네.     너무나 비극적인 사랑이야기를 주제로 한 이 노래는 영국의 조안 글래스콕(Joanne Glasscock)의 1969년 작품이다.   브리티쉬 포크 음악의 한 축인 신비주의를 대표하는 가수 조안 글래스콕(Joanne Glasscock)의 유일무이한 국내 히트곡으로 본국의 인지도와는 상관없이 신화 속의 인물을 비극적 정서로 재해석해 한국인의 심금을 울린 작품이기도 하다.   신화를 바탕으로 센토를 설명하자면, 켄타우루스라 불리는 이 인물 또는, 종족은 신과 인간과 야생의 말이 다중으로 교배하여 탄생한 반인반마(半人半馬)의 괴물로, 그 원류의 부계에는 인간과 신의 교배에 의해 탄생한 반인반신의 종족이자 더불어 친족살해의 혐의를 가진 익시온의 피가 흐르고, 모계는 그리스 북방 펠리시온 산의 순수한 암말의 혈통이었다 한다.
